Postdoctoral Researcher Position

The Institute of Astronomy, National Central University, has one opening for postdoctoral researchers with scientific background in the study of solar system small bodies and/or stellar variability in connection to a cooperative effort with the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) project group led by the Caltech Optical Observatories, California Institute of Technology. Other related topics in time-domain astronomy could be pursued. The salary scale follows the regulations of the National Science Council (NSC). The initial appointment is for one year but could be extended up to two more years.

This position which is supported by a grant from the NSC will begin in the fall of 2012 would have focus on data analysis and modeling. Observational opportunities exist for using telescopes at the Lulin Observatory, the Palomar 60” telescope and other telescopes for follow-up observations.
